Working Together

My role as a stylist is to interpret each space and craft images that show it at its best potential – from editing what's already there to making changes as subtle as adding floral to a bedside table or as significant as rearranging furniture. I work alongside the photographer to create cohesive images, paying close attention to the details that translate well in photography.

Prep work includes planning each shot and creating detailed lists, selecting and sourcing fresh florals, shopping for groceries and props that bring life to the images, and pulling pieces from my collection. We'll discuss most of this during the scout or phone call. On shoot day, my team handles cleaning and preparing spaces, styling each shot, and returning things to their original state as we move through the project.

Project Submittal

Please submit the following project information through our client portal. This helps us determine if the project is a good fit and estimate time needed in our schedule.

  • Current photos (phone snaps are fine) taken recently showing the project's current state.

  • Project completion date

  • Location address

  • All billable parties and contact information (ex. architect, interior designer, builder)

  • Requested shoot date(s)

  • Suggested shot list

After reviewing your submittal, we'll contact you within one week to discuss availability and next steps.

Please note: Where possible we recommend submitting project details before confirming dates with your photographer to ensure availability.

Project Scout

I suggest an in-person scout with the client(s) and photographer to see the current state of the project, assess needs, compile a shot list, and preferably find actual angles. This saves time on the shoot day and can help set priorities.

When circumstances prevent a walk-through, we'll schedule a phone call to discuss the shot list and styling direction. Floor plans, renderings, and design proposals can be helpful references when in-person scouting isn't possible.

Quote & Contract

After scouting and reviewing your project, we will send a quote and contract. A deposit is required to confirm your project, typically equal to estimated expenses and any advance travel costs. This deposit is applied toward your final invoice.

Requested dates can be held tentatively based on availability. As the shoot date approaches (typically 4-6 weeks out), we'll follow up to finalize your booking. Projects are confirmed once we receive your deposit and signed contract. We recommend booking 2 months or more in advance when possible.

Final payment is due upon receipt of invoice after the shoot.

Stylist Rate

$1,200/day; $720/half-day*

Typically: shoot day(s) + 1 prep day

Prep includes planning, sourcing fresh florals, food styling elements, pulling from my prop collection, and shopping for specific requests.

Assistant

$500/day; $300/half-day*

Typically: shoot day(s) + 1 prep + ½ wrap

An assistant is included in all shoots to help keep the shoot moving, work ahead and reset behind, and assist with shopping, pulling, loading, transporting, and returning props.

Wrap involves returning any purchases and restocking props to my collection.

Overtime

Time beyond 10 hours on a shoot day is billed at time-and-a-half for the first 2 hours, then double-time thereafter.

Travel

Travel over 30 miles is billed at ½ the hourly rate + mileage (72.5¢/mile).

Travel days (or travel over 4 hours) are billed at the half-day rate.

Overnight accommodations are recommended for jobs that would surpass 4 hours of total travel time.

Expenses

Typically $1,500 covers floral and food props and pulling from my collection as well as some additional shopping as needed. After a walk-through or call we can better assess this cost and any specialty needs that might increase this line.

Larger items such as art, furniture, rugs, or lighting are typically the responsibility of the designer. If your project has specific needs in these areas, we can discuss options during our scout or phone call.

These rates reflect a typical styling project. Projects requiring larger budget items (furniture rentals, major purchases) or more complex sourcing will need additional prep days and adjusted expense budgets, which we'll discuss during the scout.

*A half-day is 1-5 hours; a full day is up to 10 hours.
